
A Word to my Readers
Parker Harrison Biogrophy:
Parker Harrison, author of Princess Oni, enjoys retired life with her husband of 45 years. They make their home in the shadows of Pikes Peak where they spoil their eight grandchildren, several granddogs, and a couple grandcats. And a few chickens.
Some of the highlights of Parker’s life:
1950 – 1960 – Parker was born. That was a big event in her life.
She learned to read, and whole worlds were opened up to her.
She discovered the Trixie Belden mysteries, Nancy Drew, and lots of other literary friends.
1960 – 1970 – One of Parker’s dreams came true when she won a free trip to Chicago in 1964 to attend a live Beatles’ concert,
That same year she won the local spelling bee contest and came in second in regionals.
She graduated from high school and started college, majoring in English literature and psychology, and minoring in history and secondary education.
1970 – 1980 – Parker married the love of her life. They had two children, a son and a daughter. She loved being a stay-at-home mom and taking care of her babies.
1980 – 1990 – Her third child, another daughter, was born, and her family was complete.
She and her family moved from the mid-West to Colorado
Parker learned about homeschooling and loved the idea. Her kiddos took some convincing.
1990 – 2000 – Homeschooling became the way of life for Parker’s family.
She loved teaching her children, and also helped other moms who were learning how to teach their children.
When the internet became widely available, Parker’s life was revolutionized—wow, all the knowledge she could want, right at her fingertips!
Parker created her first email address and loved being able to connect with friends and family so easily.
Parker and her husband enjoyed a life-changing tour of the country of Ecuador, visiting Compassion International projects.
2000 – Parker enjoyed a quiet night on December 31, 1999. Her computers did not fail. The lights did not go out. Her house stayed cozy and warm. It was an optimistic welcome to the new century. This year, Parker turned 50.
2001 - 2020 – Parker welcomed her grandson and seven granddaughters into the world
She and her husband owned several businesses, including home renovations and a custom picture framing shop.
She studied writing under Jerry B. Jenkins through his Christian Writing Apprenticeship program and Your Novel Blueprint, and also studied on her own, while loving on her family, writing for a magazine, and managing her businesses.
2022 – A dream come true! At last Parker Harrison publishes Princess Oni, a fantasy for Middle Grade readers.
